GLIST will be holding its second annual summer coding camp, but this time virtually! Last year, the camp was hosted in the Moore School Building at the University of Pennsylvania. Due to the current circumstances, we will be hosting this year's camp virtually on the virtual conferencing platform, Zoom.
WHO: Rising 3rd to 8th grade girls WHAT: Girls will learn how to code on a programming language called Python & meet high school and college students who are involved in computer science! WHERE: Zoom! More information will be sent to you after registration. WHEN: Monday, August 10, 2020 - Friday, August 21, 2020 Weekdays from 10am-12pm ET w/ optional coding time from 2-3pm ET COST: FREE!*** ***We want to make sure that the camp is accessible to ALL communities. The camp will be open to both new and returning members. Returning members, YES, you heard that! Returning elementary schoolers will learn how to apply more advanced concepts (for loops & while loops) to their Turtle drawings and returning middle schoolers will learn how to use PyGame, a Python library that specializes in designing video games!
New members will learn basic Python concepts and how to use Python's graphics module, Turtle, from our Python curriculum.
